Explore the California wilderness horseback riding through the Los Padres National Forest. Follow the Sunset trail into one of the last untouched areas of Old California, the Sespe Wilderness. As you horseback ride through this pristine landscape, you might catch a glimpse of a California Condor, Red Tail Hawk or Golden Eagle.
Backcountry Journey
Pass by watering holes, fresh streams and natural hot springs – all of which you can stop by and take a dip and stay for as long as you wish. This full-service equitrekking adventure leaves all the details and duties to our skilled and hospitable wranglers. Simply show up at the trailhead with your personal duffle bag. Your guides will get the mules loaded, and then we’ll head for the hills.
Campfire Catering
We provide all camping and cooking gear, gourmet food (3 meals a day), cook and stock. If there is anything in particular that you would like included on the menu we’re happy to accommodate you. If you plan to fish, be sure to get your California State Freshwater Fishing License. Bathing suits are also recommended for a soak in the hot springs or an afternoon swim.
Explore the Sespe Wilderness
The Sespe Wilderness is located between Santa Barbara and Ventura, California in the Los Padres National Forest. A 6th generation California native, long time equestrian, outdoor adventurer and true cowboy, Graham Goodfield and Los Padres Outfitters are well familiar with the California backcountry and offer a unique opportunity to explore this incredible wilderness.
Deluxe Pack Trips
This all-inclusive package starts at $695 per person, per day, with a 5 person minimum. A minimum trip is two nights in camp with one day in between to relax, hike, or even take a short ride with your guide to explore the area, but longer stays in the wilderness are recommended. Spot Pack Trips
Riders and hikers, One way or roundtrip
Your gear is packed (dropped off) to a pre-determined destination. After dropping off your gear, you will depart from the trailhead on horseback with your packer and gear to the pre-determined destination. If you are a hiker, you can start your hiking adventure once you have dropped off your gear with your packer. Spot Trips require a minimum of 5 people. Final price based on specifics of your trip.
